November 6, 2009 Well, another Rex Allen Days in Willcox has come and gone. It was a show to remember! Not only was Lacy J. Dalton great and Pedro Gonzales Gonzales Jr. too, all my sons were there and one grandson, Jackson. Wyatt, Cody and Logan performed with me on stage doing songs from my new CD “Songs I Wrote”. It will probably never happen again in my life. What a night. The boys did such a wonderful job and even Jackson was on stage sitting in Wyatt’s lap for the song I wrote for Wyatt when he was a little boy “Where Are The Heroes”. Should have filmed it huh? Well, I didn’t, sorry…….. Wade, Marcus and Julia were there too riding in the parade and helping out at the Nursing Home and Elementary School with “John Brown’s Fliver”. Deanna kept everybody together and produced one hell of a show!! Thanks Baby!! A lot of my High School Buddies were also there to celebrate “The Spirit of The West” Willcox Style. Bix Crary who performed on stage with me, Doug Bell, Rick Gunderson, Dave Kramer, Steve White and Jim Jones. I was in Wichita for Johnny Western’s 75th birthday Roast. Lynn Anderson, Mentor Williams, Buck Taylor, Bix Crary and many others helped celebrate and had a great evening for a good cause. All the profits went to charity. In other news Rachel and Wyatt are pregnant with their second child! Baby is due in April. I might know the sex by next week. I think it’s a boy again. We’ll see. Wyatt is finishing his MBA and will be looking for work in his field. Rachel looks beautiful. As for Jackson, he’s almost three now. The terrible three’s! Great little boy. Can’t wait for Christmas. Wade and his son Colby are fine. Two pees in a pod. Colby is just like his dad. Same personality. It’s really fun to watch. Wade is still in the construction business. Marc and Julia are alive and well in Texas. Marc is working for his brother and Julia is a nurse. They are re-doing a house and Marc is also working on my fathers White Ford Truck. He’ll never sell it I know. Cody is at the University of Tennessee studying business. When he finishes, in about a year, he plans on moving back to Las Vegas and going to work in the family business “The Cowboys Network”. Logan finishes his degree in Journalism this spring. I think he might write the great American novel. He has a real talent one I wish I had. He’ll probably end up in California. TheCowboysNetwork.com will be back up with films by November 15, 2009. Give it a try. Also, you can download music too from Rangeradio.com………enjoy! Over the next year there will be many new things on the web site. Well, have a wonderful holiday season folks. I will be in Nashville for Christmas and home for New Year’s Eve. Stay safe. See you all next year. Rex |
