March 3, 2006
Hello Everyone,
Well, 2006 is starting out with a bang. I seem to have been on the road
since January 1st. And haven’t sat down once. I leave next week for
Georgia and really won’t be home ‘till after China.
As many of you know, I work a lot in Arizona during the first part of
the year. Those dates went very well and I look forward to seeing many
of you next year down there. This year I did my first cruise. “The
Cowboy Cruise”. Well, I was sick when I got there. 102 degree fever and
almost lost my voice. I made it through the shows thanks to Deanna and
the Prairie Rose Wranglers. We all had a great time.
“Festival of the West” is looming on the horizon. I go to Georgia first
then to Phoenix then to China. I have been told that the shows are
already sold out in China and that they are talking about having us back
for a 30 day tour next year. I have been meeting with some folks here in
Vegas about China. There may be something really interesting to tell you
about in the next few months.
The new CD, “The New West” is finally out. The copies that are on the
web site and thru the Fan Club are the China Version. They are
autographed and contain one extra song that was put on the CD for just
China and the only place you can get them is there. The extra song is
“Back Home Again”. The reason why it is on the China CD is that I have
been told that when the folks in China heard that I was coming and doing
Western Music they said, “Oh like John Denver!”. Well, it they feel that
Denver was a western singer then I wanted to put a song that they might
know over there on the CD. But the US version that I will be selling on
the road does not have that song.
In other news, I have another film to do in June. This one is called
“Marina Mathews”. I don’t know who the star is yet, but I will be
playing a part as well as doing the music for the film. More on that
later.
Deanna is really doing well. She has accepted a new position here in
Vegas at a new project. For a while there we thought that we might be
moving to Phoenix, but we are staying here. I am so proud of what she
has accomplished in such a short time. She is right now one of the top
agents in her field here in Las Vegas in less than two years. The new
job will allow her to travel with me more than she has in the past year
or so. That is good news.
Wade and Chris are working hard in Texas. Chris seems to have more jobs
than anyone I have ever known! Wade's business is expanding and Brother
Marcus is working with him. Marc is going back to school so that he and
Wade can take over the world! Wade always wanted to build Wademarts and
Marc wanted to race Motorcycles. I guess Marc could sell bikes at
Wademart! Who knows!!!
Wyatt had elbow surgery last July, but he is back and better than ever.
He has been traded to Cleveland and will probably be playing this summer
in Akron, Ohio. Rachel is as pretty as ever. She is going to stay in
Nashville this summer and work. She’ll join Wyatt on the weekends.
Cody and Logan are 18 years old this month! And they are graduating form
High School this May.
Logan is going to UT in Knoxville to study Communication. He wants to
act and sing. He is staring in the School Play and singing Jazz on the
weekends.
Cody is off to Arizona State University. He has been accepted to the
International Business program. He is also staring in the school play
and singing too! Cody will be headed back to Vegas for the summer where
he has a job lined up with a developer here.
I guess that is about it for now. I’ll get the summer dates to you guys
before I leave next week. I am just waiting for all the contracts to get
in. I’ll have pictures from China in April!!!
