June 28, 2007

Hello Everybody,

I am a bad boy! I have not written is way too long! It’s not that I have been to busy or that nothing has been going on…………….just lazy I guess.

In sad news, my mother Bonnie died June 16, 2007. She had been in a nursing home for many years and it was really a blessing. Mom had been in and out of hospice for the last two years. The mother that raised me died many years ago. She has been cremated and by brother Curt, sister Bonita and I will spread her ashes next to my Father’s in Willcox sometime in July. Mom was half of Connie and Bonnie The Linder Sisters who were stars at WLS National Barn Dance in Chicago where I was born. Mom retired when she married my father. She was a beautiful woman who raised four children. She was 82 years old.

Our grandson, Jackson, has found his hands and feet! Not rolling over yet. Cody, Logan and I are on our way to Nashville the first part of July. It will be the first time they will have seen Jackson. Wyatt and Rachel are doing fine. Rachel has her figure back already. She’s a good mom. Wyatt can be seen in and around Brentwood, TN with Jackson and Boston (the dog) in tow. Wyatt has retired from baseball and is working.

The next grandson, Colby, is due in August. Deanna just got back from Texas. Baby shower for Chris. She looks great! Wade is painting the bedroom between jobs and putting the crib together! I remember those days! They both seem so excited. What a wonderful time for both of them. I have told both Wade and Wyatt that the greatest name they can ever be known as is DAD. Wade will be a great father and Chris a great mom.

Marcus and Julia are well too. Marcus is working for his father and Wade. Julia has made another step on the way to getting he nursing degree. They both work very hard.

Cody has a 4.1 GPA at ASU in Phoenix for his freshman year. He is studying Finance and International Business. He loves Arizona. He and Logan plan to try and finish college in 18 months. That would have them both graduating the fall of 2008. He is going to perform with me at Rex Allen Days this October as well as another Arizona date next year. Good looking boy!

Logan ended up with a 3.9 GPA at ASU for his freshman year. Not bad huh?! He is studying business management. Logan is learning to play guitar. He already plays piano. He will also be in Willcox and the other date in Arizona with me next year.

Deanna is working hard too. She is the Director of Sales and Marketing at a high-rise project here in Vegas. She looks great and is really good at what she does with real estate. Hopefully, we will be able to get our first vacation in 15 years this fall. Mexico is calling us both! We may just run away and never come back!

There is so much going on right now that I can’t tell you about. This year will be one to remember. I will be sixty, my mother and brother died and there is one award that I am going to get that I can’t tell you about! I will let you know when I can about everything.

I am on the road beginning next week. Hope I see you all out there. I just finished new Mahindra Tractor commercials for radio and TV as well as something called “Chasing Rabbit “ for ESPN. Just listen!! Also you can hear me 24/7 at www.1037therange.com. Check them out. I love the format.
