June, 2003 Hello To All: The shows through February have gone great. I hope that some of you got to see them. I was working with just me and my guitar. So much more I can do that way. I can't do those kind of shows with a band. It is nice to work that way once a year. The highlight of my year so far has been my performance with the Phoenix Symphony in Cave Creek, Arizona on March 3rd. I did mainly Western Music as well as some of my standards. The show was outside under the stars. I have wanted to do those kind of shows for a long time. Let this be only the first! If there is a Symphony in your area we would love to talk with them. Deanna and I are off for a little while. We thought it would be a quiet time around the house, but the Mehindra Tractor people called and I did another TV spot for them. I seem to be doing more and more voice over work lately thanks to "Me, Myself and Irene" which was on Fox May 16th. Cody and Logan arrive June 8th for the summer. It will be good to have them around the house. Wade is working in his business and it sure is growing. Deanna and I are so proud of him. He is a good man. Wyatt is in Winston-Salem, NC pitching for the Warthogs of the Chicago White Sox. His ERA looks good! Marcus has opened a business in Utah. He and a friend are in the Construction business. I seem to be losing my friends. Ol Mike from Wichita to name just one. What a great guy. Had it not been for him I wouldn't have had a career. I guess we are all getting older! I will miss Mike. Deanna keeps wanting me to write a book about my life. And she is working on one too! Maybe some day I'll get to it. Deanna and I really begin our Summer Fair season in August. We plan to just stay on the road the entire time. We start Aug 6th. at the Boone County Fair. This will be my fifth year there. Great people and great food. Then back to the Iowa State fair and on and on..... In April I was in Kansas with the "Country Gold Show." As you know, that is with Leroy VanDyke and company. Well, it went so well that the promoter has decided to use the package all over the US this fall and next year. I'll try and keep you up on the dates as they are set. Deanna and I also plan on getting back to see Wyatt in Winston/Salem sometime this summer. He's having a good season. Cody, Logan, Deanna and I are also going to Texas to see Wade. I would like to spend a few days in Nashville too. I haven't been back there in over a year. My sister Bonita is there. Hopefully there will be time for all. I might even be able to see Bill McCullough, better known as SOB!!! I'd like that. Bill was a good guy, fine player and an all around good hand for lots of years. Well, that's about it for now.
