January 2007 Hello, I hope that everyone made it through the holidays in one piece. At one time, Deanna and I had nine people in the house. We had boys sleeping everywhere. Not only did Wyatt come for a few days just before Christmas, but Cody and Logan were home from College. Wade and Chris as well as Marc and Julia were also here from Texas. Rachel was way too pregnant to make the trip. She is due in about three weeks! All in all we had a wonderful Christmas and a quiet New Year. Wyatt graduated from The University of Tennessee on December 17th. I was there cheering him down the isle. Deanna and the rest of the crew saw the whole ceremony over the internet. Quite a time we live in isn’t it. I spent a few days with Rachel at their home in Nashville. The baby’s room is ready to go. I shipped the cradle that my Dad made for Wyatt in 1980 to them so that the next generation can begin on the right foot! The little boy's name will be Jackson Rex Allen. He is due into this world on February 4, 2007. We also found out that Wade and Chris are pregnant too! Chris is due in August. Two grandchildren in one year. 2007 promises to be fun! The kids are very excited and are looking for a new home in Texas. They haven’t picked any names yet. I have been pulling for Deanna II and Rex………and I have tried to get them to go with my grandfathers name Horace…..but they don’t seem to interested in those names! Chris looks great and Wade has the new Dad jitters. He will make a great Dad both Deanna and I are sure. Marc and Julia drove out to Vegas for Christmas. They were with us ‘till Christmas day, then drove to California to be with Julia’s parents and family for a few days before heading back to Texas. Julia is going to school as well as working. She wants to be a Nurse some day. Marc is working with Wade and looks better that ever. Cody is carrying a full load this semester at ASU in Tempe. His grades for the first semester were right at a 3.8 GPA. He is studying International Business and wants to travel the world. As he says, “I am working my way up the Forbes List Dad!” Logan has moved into the same dorm room as Cody for this semester. I don’t know how that will work out. We’ll see. Logan is also carrying a full load this semester. He is still in the International Business program, but I think next year he will move to a more Entertainment Major. His GPA is right at what Cody’s is at this time. He and Cody are going to do a film with me sometime in February as actors and singers. But more about that when it happens. Deanna is still beautiful. She gets better every day. You all should see what she does to our home for Christmas. She as six huge boxes of Christmas decorations and keeps me working on decorating for about a week. The entire family thinks that were it not for her, the whole world couldn’t celebrate Christmas. I think she has some elf blood in her somewhere! As I travel this winter Deanna should be with me. So if I am going to be somewhere in your area look for a beautiful blond……that will be her! Well, enough for now….by the way I messed up for the first time in my performing career and missed a date in Casa Grande, AZ at the Palms Resort. I just had the wrong date. Might be age, who knows. But the folks there were so nice about it and I will be there on January 31st. See you soon, Rex |
