Hi All,
More commercials are on the way! The
Westerns Channel will begin
running the 22 spots I did for them sometime in early May. They are
doing a special run of "The Duke’s" films on what would have been his 95th
birthday. I’m also doing spots for a tractor company. But more about
that next time.
Thanks to the Internet, people that lost me have found me again and
they wanted updated on my life. Here goes!
Deanna and I were married March 31, 1990. Between us we have five
boys – Wade, 24; Wyatt, 22; Marcus, 20; and Cody and Logan, 14. Marcus
still lives with us and Cody and Logan live with their mother in
Nashville. As many of you know, Deanna travels with me all the time. And
you have grown to lover her almost as much as me. Now, after 12 years,
love is wonderful "The Second Time Around" like the song says. She is a
great Lady and my best friend.
This will be a busy summer. Deanna and I plan to
drive from the West Coast and just stay in in Midwest the month of
August. Please come and see us if we are in your area.
Hope you all are doing well. Thanks to Nadine, Terri and Susan for
all their help and support.
All the Best,
Rex
Rex's Guest Book entry:
April 27, 2002
Hi Everybody,
Sorry I haven't answered some of your questions lately. Deanna and I do
read the Guest Book but it is my fault for not getting back. I am also
posting a new letter and
schedule sometime this weekend.
Rex Allen Days in
Willcox, Arizona is October 4 - 5, 2002. We also do
something called "The Rex Allen Western Film and Music Festival." There
will be poets and singers as well as my Dad's films will be run in the
theater there. To get to Willcox go East on I-10 from Tucson 75 miles to
Willcox. Exit on Rex Allen Dr. I would suggest that those of you who are
going to go make hotel reservations now. They fill up.
I will be in Billings on June 22nd with
Leroy VanDyke. I don't know
where I will be playing (the contract isn't back yet) but will let you
know when I know.
I don't work in Texas much anymore. The only time I get to the state is
to visit family. As many of you know, the love of my life, Deanna, is
from Texas.
For those of you who remember the original band, "The Country
Travelers," from so long ago, I haven't seen them in years. Bill is in
Tennessee and Denny and Joe are in Indiana. Denny and I wrote a lot of
songs together. They were a great and talented group of guys.
For those of you who are interested in getting my Warner Brothers albums
on CD, there might be a chance of that in the near future. Thanks to
Don
Henley of the Eagles, there are some very big changes in the copyright
laws coming. The changes will transfer ownership back to the artist
after 18 years. When that happens, I plan on having them out on CD
through the web site.
Deanna and I want to thank all of you for the messages you post. And
please continue, we love to hear from you.
Rex
